So much change is in the air, it must be spring! Or something…
Right now I have a little bit of time on my hands for the first time in a year and a half, and between CRPO loading some of its membership with a pilot project for qualifying professional development within the College, and trying to catch up on my textbook reading backlog (not to mention my sleep), I’ve finally been getting to some tinkering with the website. The redesign was necessary after five years. I liked the old design, but it was both dated, and not meeting my own changing aesthetics for a professional website. Developing a personal brand turns out to be a lot more than I thought it would be… mostly because I didn’t really give it a lot of thought until about 18 months ago, and I’m only just rethinking a lot of what that means to me now.
On the upside, the professional tweaking is a good reminder that all relationships need periodic check-ins to see what has changed: what the current tastes are, whether the old assumptions are still valid, whether unchallenged expectations still hold water or need to be (like this website) overhauled and renovated. Even if the relationship is the one you have with yourself, your personal brand, or with other people, there’s always lots of opportunity to revisit and refresh everything that you think you know, and maybe even change things up a bit when you find something’s gone out of fashion or a little stale.
In love and relationship as in website design… Or something… 🙂
